Shuta Hasunuma Full Philharmonic Orchestra + Ginza Sony Park "Windandwindows"
"Getting into the Music" is a new experience. It recreates a special version of a full philharmonic performance with 29 glass sound speakers
Offering a new musical experience called "Getting into the Music," in a space arranged with 29 Sony LSPX-S2 glass sound speakers that recreate real sound, just like a live performance.
Duration: July 24 - September 1, 2019 10:00 - 20:00
Exhibit venue: B3 / Basement 3
Scattered around an open space are 32 speakers- 29 glass sound speakers and three woofers, which recreate a live performance of the 26-member Shuta Hasunuma Full Philharmonic Orchestra. The piece being performed "Windandwindows" is a special composition by Hasunuma specifically for this program. Stretching out the performance time to insert sufficient pauses makes it easier for listeners to get into the sound, while the special ambient music is designed for long, enjoyable hours spent at Ginza Sony Park.
As you move around or between the speakers, the breadth of the sound and the way your ears pick up the music will change little by little according to your location. We invite you to come get into the music, take a seat wherever you'd like, and enjoy this experience in a new type of music space.
Comments from Shuta Hasunuma
"Wind and windows."
Wind and sound are somewhat similar in that neither can be seen. Like the wind that blows through the window, this sound enters and leaves from here. This coming and going of sound creates the space in which music is played.
The Park attracts a variety of people, and it is here that "well-ventilated" music has been installed.
Each and every sound played by the 26 members of the Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra will reverberate through this space.
I want people to relax and enjoy their own "wind and windows" experience by spending time here to forget the passing of time, or even become oblivious to the music being played.
Profile: Shuta Hasunuma Full Philharmonic
This 26-member creation came about in 2017 when 10 new members were selected by audition to join the 16-member Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic, a modern philharmonic pop orchestra.
The orchestra is conducted by Shuta Hasunuma who composes music based on ambient and electronic sounds.
On August 25 (Sun) they are scheduled to perform their concert "Hibiya, Musical Expressions of Time" at Tokyo Metropolitan Hibiya Public Hall.
Glass sound speaker LSPX-S2
This speaker vibrates a transparent organic glass tube to create sound that fills a room. Enjoy clear, authentic sound no matter where you place the speaker in the room or where in the room you are, with an original acoustic structure that aims to deliver all types of sound, from high tones to midrange sound and low-end notes. Just as you physically pluck and beat string and percussion instruments, Sony's vertical drive technologies strike the end of the organic glass tube to send vibrations throughout the entire tube. As a result, the speaker can reproduce outstanding textured sound expression of instruments, with the capability to replicate even the sound of the human breath in the most minute of details.
